The 13th Boris Tevlin International Autumn Choir Festival opens in the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory on Monday. This year it is held under the motto "In the orbit of Igor Stravinsky" and is dedicated to the 135th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding composer, TASS was told in the press service of the Moscow Conservatory.
"Stravinsky influenced almost most of the composers of the second half of the 20th century," said the artistic director of the festival, Professor Alexander Solovyov. He believes that the aesthetics of the review he leads is close to Stravinsky's credo - "to be together with time."
This year the whole world celebrates the 135th anniversary of Stravinsky's birth, but there is another significant date for conservators: 55 years ago, in September 1962, Stravinsky returned to his homeland to celebrate his 80th birthday and gave concerts in the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory , emphasized the artistic director of the festival. He informed that the review will last for four days, and in each of the concerts, next to the compositions of Stravinsky, the music of his contemporaries from different countries and cultures will sound.
Also, within the framework of the festival, a photo exhibition was held in the foyer of the large concert hall of the Conservatory.
